Windows 7

Microsoft Windows 7 Logo
The Windows 7 migration project is a district wide initiative to upgrade all computers to the Windows 7 Operating System. The Windows 7 operating system is required for many business and instructional software packages and will result in increased performance and fewer issues for the many software titles used by students and staff at CMS.

The initial phase of this project was the upgrade of school computers. This phase is complete; please visit the Windows 7 – School Upgrades Web page for detailed information about this phase.

The second phase of the Windows 7 migration project was departmental upgrades; this phase is also complete. Department computers were upgraded by “process level”; all users within a process level (even when users are in multiple physical locations) were included in a departmental upgrade. Please see “Preparing for Windows 7 Upgrade in My Department” for additional information on the process.

Current Status
Departmental upgrades began in August 2014 and are complete.
